This Disneyland Park reference guide features backstamps, reverses or "mules" on-stage or available to the general public inside the gates of the Disneyland® Park, USA. Disneyland is the first and as of early 2009, still the only Disney park to offer elongated coins with backstamps. This guide is provided for collectors that collect only backstamps or have separate backstamp collections. There is more than one page to this guide; direct page links are listed above by penny press machine coin numbers, which were assigned chronologically.

I must confess that because this guide is redundant, it often is the last to get caught up. However, all backstamps are listed separately as they appear at the park in the associated full featured guides. I hope one day, to have all the guides and references up to date, but, for now, my goal is just not to fall any further behind!

Although the numismatic term is "Reverses", we use that term interchangeably with the more casual term, "Backstamp".

And now... the moment you've all been waiting for! The amazing, the stupendous, the colossal, the eighth wonder of the world... the back side of PENNY !

(Horizontal reverse or backstamp image) DISNEYLAND® PARK. Dot matrix style lettering. This is the very first "backstamp" or reverse ever at any Disney park. First issued on the DL0251 and later on the DL0251a. This coin is a part of the "Lands Set". This "dot matrix", very early style reverse reads "Disneyland® Park". On November 12th, 2006, this die set was taken off-stage and returned November 15th 2006 as DL0380 with a new backstamp or reverse of DISNEYLAND® RESORT. (See the DNR Disneyland Never Neverland backstamps section for what is believed to be an earlier prototype backstamp tested on this Main Street die.)

The DL0380 backstamp is offered here as a reference in attributing the DL0251a. (Horizontal reverse or backstamp image) DISNEYLAND® RESORT Detail view of the DL0380, Nifty Nineties elongated nickel reverse. First on-stage at The Main Street Penny Arcade on 11/15/06.
