The "Penny Art" DN0020 Elongated Nickel
and the Nickel-Sized Art DL0059

The 40 Years of Adventure elongated nickels, if not side by side, can be easily confused. Issued in 1995 with the opening of the Indiana Jones Adventure, Temple of the Forbidden Eye attraction, the nickel-sized DL0059 coins were a big hit! The machine was located in the Main Street Penny Arcade and along with the Top Hat Mickey and Minnie nickels, marked the arrival of elongated nickels at Disneyland. Actually, the arrival of pressed nickels at any Disney park! Given scarcity and values of the small penny-art vs. the full-sized nickel art versions, vary so widely, we offer this close up of the two coins next to each other. This is an example of an extremely scarce off-denomination or cent variation of the DN0020. It was pressed by the incorrectly cut DN0020 penny-sized nickel die. See also DN0020 and DL0059.
