Lots of very cool coins in this set! The Disneyland Park Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney or "DR" coins are sort of make up the matrix around, but, outside of the Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure admission gates. The machines are located in the Hotels, gift shops and stores. There are also machines in places like The Rainforest Cafe, that are included as "Disney" coins because they are located on Disney property in Downtown Disney.

The locations of the Disneyland Resort Hotel and Downtown Disney machines usually make it easy for many people to press a coin Early on there were penny presses located in and around the Disneyland Hotel. Soon presses were to be found at the Pan Pacific Hotel (Now the Paradise Pier Hotel) and later The World of Disney Store, the Grand Californian and Downtown Disney too. Because those coins, in general, were / are easy to find and are often are on-stage for a long time lots of people press them as souvenirs and they are not too difficult to find. Most "DR" coins are offered in trade or for sale at an on-line auctions.

However, a few "DR" coins were not in high traffic areas or pressed by many people. A coin that comes to mind that is both interesting and hard to find was from a machine that was located for a short time at Vacationland, Disney’s Campground, Anaheim, CA. As old timers will remember, Vacationland was an RV area not far from the Disneyland Hotel. Today it is just a part of history, but, the DR0011 from the penny press once located there, is still making history as a prized, hard to find "DR" elongated coin.

Lastly, unique feature of the "DR" coins is that most, if not all of the them, have been and will be accessible without paying admission. Currently you may park for free and casually walk the hotels and Downtown Disney searching for new pressed pennies with the family. In my humble opinion, that makes this collection an excellent choice for young families. Yes, this can be an inexpensive hobby!
