Welcome to the 2005 Tokyo Disneyland Coin of the Month "pressed penny" collection. The Tokyo Disneyland Resort was the first Disney Resort in the world to offer a Coin of the Month Series. To the surprise of many, as of 2009, TDR still is the only Disney Resort that offers a "pressed coin" of the month series.

The series has been extremely successful with both guests and pressed coin collectors alike. The series has grown from the first coin of the month penny press placed in April of 2005 at Tokyo Disney's DisneySea Park to three coin of the month machines. In July of 2005, the Tokyo Disneyland Park followed DisneySea by placing their first Coin of the Month machine, in January of 2006, they placed their second Coin of the Month machine. Since the very first year, each machine has offered a different, matched Coin of the Month set. You may view all these Coins of the Month on a single page here.

The Tokyo Coin of the Month collections are divided in our guides by gate Disneyland and DisneySea. Tokyo Disneyland is additionally organized by machine one and machine two. Each gate, year, and machine, offer coins with unique styles and are each easily stand alone collections, as you'll see in the collection guides. (Although, advanced collectors will, of course, want them all.)

Note: This July 2005 coin is the first coin in the Tokyo Disneyland Coin of the Month collection. Tokyo DisneySea started the Coin of the Month collection in May of 2005 followed by Tokyo Disneyland in July of 2005 and a second machine placed in at Tokyo Disneyland in January of 2006.
