Disneyland Retirement Coins
Honor Cast Members

I can’t image a greater honor for a Cast Member than to have his or her own Disneyland "pressed penny"! A hundred years and more from now, Disneyana collectors will still remember them. Might not be easy finding one of their coins, but, collectors will be looking for them by name.
Here are the Disneyland elongated coins that feature Cast Members. To this date, they have been issued as retirement gifts, mementos from friends that worked with them over the years.

(Vertical elongated coin image) 35 YEARS bust, BILL HOGARTH, ©DISNEY "e" for Eurolink replaces the dot nearest the center of the gripper slot, DISNEYLAND®
An estimated 250 current year, 1998 uncirculated zinc cents were pressed to order in advance by Eurolink for Bill Hogarth’s retirement party on May 19, 1998. A machine was never available. The coins were available to Cast Members and guests who attended the party. As one of his retirement gifts, the die was presented to Mr. Hogarth at the party. It is believed that ten steel cents, nickels and dimes (both clad and silver) may exist as well as a few copper cents (both wheat back and memorial back).

A specially marqueed single die nickel press machine held this coin die at the retirement party on January 31st, 2007. The machine was available to guests who wished to press elongated nickel souvenir mementos of the day. Two attendees estimated that about 120 coins were pressed by party guests before a jam damaged die.
Coin(s) from this die are believed to have been included in the framed set presented to George Meyer on his retirement.
