First on-stage February 6, 2001 at the Union Bank of California, UBOC, located inside Disneyland the Bank Of Main Street. The usually guarded high quality 4-choice oak hand crank machine was built into the main counter. It offered a selection of the four coins, which were often described as "the same". Complimentary press: Sometimes, a complimentary coin holder card and new shiny zinc penny were dispensed by a Cast Member to guests. Machine was removed from Disneyland when the Main Street UBOC closed, April 1, 2003.

Most of the engraving is inside the dot border of the coin. This resulted in a loss of detail and a poor quality coin would have been the result. Not something the good folks at The Penny Men accept. So, the coin artwork was reworked by extending the train image past the dot border. A very nice coin was the result as shown with the production or onstage "DL" coin at the bottom.

Dot locations help in attributing the DL0153-56 / DN0025-28 coin sets. The UBOC elongated coins were pressed via a high quality hand crank machine that featured a die roller with four separate engravings. In the case of both the onstage and prototype coins, all four engravings on the die roller were nearly identical, save a larger single dot placed uniquely in the border of each coin as shown in the adjacent picture.
